My Story…

Hi, y’all! I’m Brooke Pospichal, but I go by Brooklyn(:

I grew up in Jupiter, Fl with my two triplet sisters, one older brother and my two parents. We moved to Texas when I was 10 years old and I have lived in Dallas, TX ever since. I spent a great portion of my life as a diver. I began diving when I was 7 years old and continued pursuing my diving career until I was 21 years old. I am so grateful for all the opportunities diving gave me, and everything it has taught me throughout the years. I moved away from home at age 16 to Indianapolis, Indiana to be coached by the 2008 Olympic diving coach John Wingfield. I became homeschooled and trained 8 hours a day in order to maximize my potential. I spent 2 1/2 years finishing high school online while I traveled and competed in elite diving competitions around the country. I managed to qualify for the London & Rio Olympic Trials for platform diving, which was more than I ever imagined I would accomplish. The Olympics didn’t end up being my path due to multiple concussions and injuries, so I decided to attend college on an athletic scholarship the following year. The opportunity to complete my education and still get to dive competitively was a dream come true.

I attended The University of Texas my freshman year, and then decided to transfer to Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Tx. Ultimately, I knew I belonged in Dallas, and didn’t feel like UT was the right fit for me. I ended up diving for SMU for two years on an athletic scholarship and ended up winning my 1st Conference Championship on platform my sophomore year. As a student athlete I learned how to balance a lot of responsibilities at once, and it really helped me grow as a person. I ended up retiring from my diving career at the end of my junior year because of a career ending shoulder injury. That was the hardest decision of my life but I knew my time was up in the sport. I had to adjust to life without my sport and it was such a drastic change. I shifted all of my focus to academics and ultimately decided to switch my major from Journalism to Sports Management. In the end, I went on to earn my degree in Applied Physiology and Sports Management with a Bachelor’s in Science. My time at Southern Methodist University was truly amazing and I had the opportunity of completing three internships, #1 SMU Athletics Marketing Department, #2 SMU Men’s Football, and #3 SMU Men’s Basketball. Each internship played a vital role in my digital media growth and enhanced my creative skillset. I am extremely thankful to everyone in my life who helped push me and support me throughout these chapters in my life. However, my story isn’t finished yet…it has just begun. Stay tuned.
